About BMI
Body Mass Index (BMI) is calculated as: weight (kg) ÷ height² (m²). It's a widely used screening tool, but it doesn't account for muscle mass, bone density, or body fat distribution. Highly muscular individuals (e.g. bodybuilders, powerlifters) may be classified as "overweight" or "obese" despite having low body fat.
While it can serve as a quick and easy metric for understanding whether you have a statistically high or low body weight, its results should be taken with a grain of salt when trying to draw further conclusions from it.
